Floodplain Information Center

Grünau Castle

The interactive Danube furniture winds its way from its source to its mouth through the vault of the former moated castle in the Danube floodplains near Neuburg an der Donau.

The Aueninstitut Neuburg is dedicated to floodplain research and development at national and European level.
The research focus is on floodplain ecology and floodplain dynamization, taking into account dam-regulated river systems.
The center consists of three divisions:
the Floodplain Institute as a research facility,
the Floodplain Forum, for the exchange of professional experience
and the Floodplain Information Center as an interface to the public.

Public relations work begins outside with special themed trails accompanied by information boards.
