Bus station Schrobenhausen

Bus station and car park in Schrobenhausen, Germany

The planning area represents the essential, car-free connection between the old town, the school center with sports facilities, and the outdoor swimming pool. The location of the parking deck opposite the town hall creates a permeable open space from the ramparts to the green space of the Paar river. The bus shelters act as filters and zoning between the bus station and the open space. The compact parking deck, located at the edge of the property, creates added value in the form of a large public green space with public park elements (beer garden, playground, seating and lounging areas on the banks of the Paar).
The large-crowned trees will be preserved, creating an open, clearly arranged landscape. The facade of the parking garage with 172 parking spaces consists of Corten steel slats that fan out continuously, allowing light and air into the garage. The corroding steel material creates a warm and friendly look with its natural and rough surface. The bus stations follow the same material concept and design focused on the essentials, creating a uniform overall ensemble.
