"Danish design has a model character and is still the epitome and expression of a timeless yet modern lifestyle".
"Made in Denmark" was the title of an exhibition by the GRASSI Museum for Applied Arts Leipzig. The objects of this exhibition form the basis of the show in Vienna and are supplemented with design classics from institutions such as the MAK, Vitra Design Museum, one holdings from the Hofmobilendepot and private lenders.
Danish designers, from Kaare Klint and Arne Jacobsen to Verner Panton, have shaped the product and living culture of entire generations - especially in the second half of the 20th century, when "MADE IN DENMARK" established itself as an international trademark. This exhibition thematizes that this era was preceded by equally important designers, artisans and internationally recognized trends.
Our exhibition design translates this temporal continuity into a spacious, flowing and bright design. Diagonal installations form thematic areas, opening and closing the space.
Overview and visual relationships connect the epochs of design development and visualize the developmental strands and their references. The chosen colour of the slides brings out the material qualities of the furniture exhibits in their best advantage.
